Former Bulldog Dre Terry Drafted in USFL by Philadelphia Stars

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. __ Former Alabama A&M defensive standout Dre Terry (Roanoke Rapids, N.C.) will continue his playing career going forward in the United States Football League next season.
The Philadelphia Stars drafted Terry, a linebacker, in the 10th round of the USFL draft on Tuesday in their first-ever college draft to begin to kick off the second season of the league’s existence.
Terry recorded 85 total tackles for the Bulldogs this past season, including 43 solos and 42 assisted stops, along with 12 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, an interception, and a forced fumble in his lone year with the Bulldogs after transferring from East Carolina.
He had his best week of the season against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on October 16, amassing 14 tackles and a 31-yard interception, helping him become the first Alabama A&M player to be named Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Defensive Player of the Week since 2018. He also accounted for a season-high 16 tackles against Texas. Southern on November 19.
The Stars finished 6-4 in 2022, finishing second during the regular season in the North Division before falling to the Birmingham Stallions, 33-30, in the inaugural championship game.
The USFL will kick off their second season on April 15, 2023.
